We are very pleased to announce that Untitled Gallery Tbilisi (Georgia) has joined the Artists at Risk (AR)-Network as the host institution of AR-Tbilisi!

Untitled Gallery is an art space established in early 2019 by Giorgi Rodionov in Tbilisi. Georgia. As a former AR-Resident, Rodionov’s engagement for artists at risk, like he himself was, exemplifies the horizontal nature of the AR Network as a peer-to-peer community. Untitled Gallery aims to unite creatives and art activists in the South Caucasus, working to improve the social environment and promote the rights of women and sexual minorities through a diverse range of art projects around the region.

AR-Tbilisi recently welcomed its first residents, with Pussy Riot members Sasha Sofeev, Anya Kuzminykh and Nika Nikulshina as well as visual artist Roma Durov officially starting their residencies here in September 2021.

AR-Tbilisi residents will receive hosting and administrative support both locally and from the AR-Secretariat, as well as curatorial support from Perpetuum Mobile (PM), as is the case with all AR-Residencies. The AR-Secretariat is supported by the Kone Foundation and the Swedish Arts Council.

ARTISTS at RISK (AR) is an institution at the intersection of human rights and the arts. AR is dedicated to mapping the field of persecuted visual art practitioners, facilitating their safe passage from their countries of origin and hosting them at AR-Residencies, with curatorial support to assist them in continuing and expanding their artistic practice.
