The legendary dissident rock musician Evgeny Fedorov, with his wife and musical producer Anastasiia Dolgaia and their two children, are at high risk of being deported from Sweden via Estonia, into the arms of their Russian persecutors.
Artists at Risk (AR) has joined together with Svenska PEN, SWAN – Swedish Artist Residency Network, PEN America, Ugandan PEN, Scensverige, Help Ukraine Gothenburg among others in this letter to the Minister of Migration of the Government of Sweden and the Swedish Migration Agency to overturn this fateful order. The least the Swedish authorities can do is to suspend their deportation to Estonia pending the processing of their appeal to the Supreme Migration Court of Sweden.
We call on the artistic community around the world to stand in support of the Fedorov-Dolgaia family against the practices of the Swedish authorities, which can have severe consequences for the fate of a legendary oppositional figure to the Putin-regime!
