Ukrainian actor Aleksei Yudnikov: “It’s easier to tell the truth from the outside”
ACN Barcelona – This Saturday, the CCCB will have a very special theatrical premiere coinciding with the first anniversary of the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The actor Aleksey Yudnikov will interpret the monologue ‘My Mother and the Total Invasion’ by Sasha Denisova, also from Ukraine, a piece worked on from exile as part of the first residence Barcelona Artists at Risk by the ICUB, CCCB and with the international platform Artists at Risk. Both artists developed their careers in Moscow, always critically, but with the start of the war they had to seek refuge outside of Russia. This Monday, Yudnikov spoke about the difficulty of creating while part of his family is still in Kyiv, but he celebrated being able to continue working in freedom.
