After our successful cooperation programme in 2022, Artists at Risk (AR) and Goethe-Institut are joining forces in an effort to support Ukrainian artists at risk for the second year running.

The new open call for institutions in the German cultural scene who will be matched by Artists at Risk (AR) with artists and cultural workers fleeing from the war in Ukraine can be found here: https://www.goethe.de/en/kul/foe/eau.html. Cultural institutions in Germany who would like to offer residencies or working studios can (re)join the AR-Goethe Network, register, and apply for funding by 15 October 2023.

Artists and cultural workers from Ukraine can, as always, continue to apply via the Artists at Risk (AR) application form to be matched with cultural institutions in Germany, as well as around Europe: https://forms.gle/C15M4KAMzbzCYHxw8

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the AR-Ukraine Solidarity Team has been at the forefront of the emergency relocation of Ukrainian artists, working to match the large volume of applicants with AR Residences around the world. So far, 397 applicants from Ukraine have been successfully relocated to hosting organisations across Europe.

By partnering with Goethe-Institut for a second year, Artists at Risk (AR) is set to give even more artists the opportunity to gain safety and continue their work.
