Artists at Risk (AR) works in Uganda through collaborations with local and regional partners committed to supporting artists and cultural practitioners at risk.
In 2023, AR partnered with DefendDefenders / African Defenders to support Sudanese political cartoonist Osman Obaid, who was internally displaced by the war in Sudan. Through this collaboration, AR assisted Obaid in becoming a fellow of the Ubuntu Hub Cities programme in Kampala, Uganda.
