Kholod Hawash presented at the AR Pavilion and the Nordic Countries Pavilion

Kholod Hawash has the distinction of being presented in two pavilions on the occasion of the 2024 Venice Biennale.
Her sumptuous, vibrant textile ‘Long Nights’ holds a prominent space in The ARTISTS AT RISK PAVILION—Artists. Risks. Humans. Rights. held with the support of UNESCO (HQ) at UNESCO Office in Venice‘s Palazzo Zorzi. Her hand-sewn costumes, furthermore, are a key visual aspect of ‘The Altersea Opera’ in the Nordic Countries Pavilion.
Hawash was an Artists at Risk (AR) Resident at numerous AR-Residences in Finland from 2019 to 2021. During this period and well beyond, AR has funded and secured support from numerous instances, including municipalities, foundations and associations, as well as entrance into the collections of Kiasma in the context of the prestigious ARS22 exhibition, EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art, the State of the ART(ist) prize at Ars Electronica 2023, the William Thuring Prize 2022, and further awards.
