The Schauspielhaus Zürich and Artists at Risk (AR) welcome you to a special Solidarity Event on the 26th of May, 2024 at 5pm.
One of the most prominent theatres in the German-speaking world, the Schauspielhaus Zürich made a remarkable decision over two years ago, to independently collect and support and donate to Artists at Risk (AR). Remarkable sums have been collected and donated, with regular transfers of over 15,000 euros!
Furthermore, the Schauspielhaus Zürich’s CONVERSATIONS WITH ARTISTS AT RISK (AR) has already carried out three extensive interviews with AR-Residents: https://www.schauspielhaus.ch/de/journal/28022/conversations-with-artists-at-risk-ar
Now, the Schauspielhaus is opening its main stage, the Pfauen, providing residents, affiliates and the directors of Artists at Risk (AR) with a platform to raise awareness of their work in Switzerland.
The event will begin with a panel discussion on the connection between art and war, including:
- Members of Fo Sho, the African-Ukrainian hip-hop trio + DJ, recently declared «future superstars» by Republik Magazin following their performance at the AR Pavilion on the occasion of the Venice Biennale
- Aws Al-Zubaïdy, a Palestinian actor and director currently living in Switzerland
- Slava Ptrk, the renowned Russian visual/urban artist
- Ivor Stodolsky and Marita Muukkonen, AR’s Co-Directors
FO SHO will shake the Pfauen to its core in the CONCERT to follow!
