Rafto Conference 2024 on Saturday, November 9
The Rafto Conference 2024 is here, inviting everyone to an inspiring event on Saturday, November 9. Taking place both in Bergen and online, this year’s conference celebrates Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara, Cuban artist and activist, who has bravely fought for artistic freedom and human rights, even in the face of imprisonment.
Key speakers include Ivor Stodolsky, Co-Director of Artists at Risk (AR), along with other prominent voices in human rights and Cuban politics, such as Benedicte Bull, Vegard Bye, Yanelys Nuñez Leyva, Ståle Wig, Sverre Pedersen, Norges Rodríguez, and Adri González. The conference is hosted by journalist Hilde Sandvik.

Since 1987, the Rafto Prize has amplified the stories of human rights defenders worldwide, raising awareness of violations and honouring those who push back against oppression.
