We are thrilled to welcome you to our annual spring celebration on Saturday, May 17th at our beloved Venetsia building in Lapinlahti!
We will start in the Blue Room on the first floor of the Venetsia building.
15:00 A keenly-awaited public presentation by AR-Safe Haven Helsinki Resident, and award-winning filmmaker and photographer Issa Touma from Aleppo, Syria.
This AR Finland gathering doubles as a good-bye party for Issa, a long-standing friend and artist in many AR Pavilions. We will miss him, but expect to see him again soon!
16:00 A warm welcome to our new AR-SHH Resident Hayfa Dhouib, journalist and human rights defender.
Hayfa Dhouib is a journalist and human rights defender from Tunisia. She is the first of two residents in a pilot programme which Artists at Risk (AR) is coordinating together with the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the City of Helsinki. The programme is co-funded by the European Union Human Rights Defenders mechanism ProtectDefenders.eu. Read the press release about the programme here.
16:15 The festivities begin and, if the weather plays along, the BBQ on the lawn will be lit.
Food will be served, but any contributions to the grill and drinks would be much appreciated!
Let’s celebrate the spring together and give AR – Perpetuum Mobile (PM)’s wonderful residents a warm goodbye and welcome!
