The Recovery and Support Program for Artist-Veterans is currently taking place at MC6, creating a dedicated space for artist-veterans to reconnect with their creative practice while receiving collective and psychological support.

This program is part of Artists at Risk (AR) – Frontline Network, a pilot initiative supporting artists currently serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, those released from captivity, and artist-veterans returning home with their families.

As the war continues, the need for dialogue, care, and reintegration between military and civilian cultural communities has become urgent. Artists at Risk (AR) is proud to support this initiative, alongside @frontlinekit and @vidnova_spilno_to_you

A central part of the program is a 7-day creative residency, where participants come together for shared practices, individual and group sessions, and collective reflection. These encounters offer space for dialogue, artistic exploration, and the gradual return to a creative identity shaped — but not defined — by the experience of service.

By centering care, trust, and artistic process, the program supports artist-veterans as they continue their creative paths within a trauma-affected social context. We thank the Finnish Ministry of culture and education, the Finnish Ministry of foreign affairs, the donors, and everyone involved, especially Creative MC6 Residence!
