We’re gathering in Lithuania for the Ukraine/Nordic-Baltic (AR-UNB) Residency Cooperation Network workshop at Nida Art Colony (Vilnius Academy of Arts), on 29–31 March 2026. The workshop strengthens cooperation and supports artists at risk across the Nordic–Baltic region and Ukraine, as part of our two-year collaboration supported by Nordic Culture Point Long-Term Network Funding.

This meeting marks the next chapter of the network, following our workshop held last September at Creative Residency MC6.

The program brings together workshops and discussions on residency practices, mobility and new ways to support artists at risk, including a trauma and PTSD session led by a psychologist. Those attending will take part in site visits around Nida’s dunes and can hear presentations from partner residencies such as Creative Residency MC6 and Bakota Hub, along with Lithuanian initiatives including Rupert, Sodas2123 Residency, April Residency, Agnė Jokšė, Rūta Nanartavičiūtė and Artscape.

The workshop further includes networking sessions with international experts Teresa Chen (RENA Network) and Monica Stryker (Foundations for Ukraine), focused on long-term collaboration, as well as a visit to CAC in Vilnius for knowledge exchange.

Many AR-hosting organizations and peers will also be attending such as Julia Harasimowicz and Olga Miękus from Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, Solvita Krese from the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art (LCCA), Alina Oliinyk from Bakota Hub, Art in Lov, Viktorija Šiaulytė from Rupert, and Kati Sointukangas from Fiskars. In Vilnius CAC, the Contemporary Art Center, will host us.

We warmly thank all our partners: Creative Residency MC6 (Ukraine), Nida Art Colony (Lithuania), Nordic House (Iceland), Retreat House (Ukraine), Nordic Artists’ Center (NKD, Norway), Detali (Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine) and MASSIA (Estonia); as well as our funders the Nordic Culture Point (long-term network funding), Svenska Kulturfonden, Finnish Ministry of Culture and Education and the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
