We warmly invite you to the opening of “A Daily Choice”, the first solo exhibition by Ukrainian artist and AR-Resident Mariia Zhuravel. Inspired by the landscapes and cityscapes she encounters during her daily walks through Helsinki, the exhibition reflects on hope as an active and conscious choice rather than a passive symbol of renewal. Through her work, Zhuravel explores the tension between resilience and despair in everyday life.

Central to the exhibition is Zhuravel’s practice of “slow drawing,” a method rooted in careful observation of nature and landscape over time. By focusing on textures, shadows, and movement, she translates emotional states into delicate yet sombre compositions.

Mariia Zhuravel’s AR-residency at AR-Safe Haven Helsinki is supported by The City of Helsinki, The Finnish Arts and Culture Agency (Kuvi) and the Ministry of Education and Culture.
We Thank U-Art Gallery for their cooperation and for making this event possible.
