AR-Resident Olia Mykhailiuk

Olia Mykhailiuk is a multidisciplinary artist working across video, photography, installation, text and performance. Her practice explores memory, identity, decolonization and the relationship between humans and landscape, often incorporating documentary material.

Born and based in Kyiv, she has presented work internationally and participated in residencies including the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art (2025), Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art (2023), and Villa Waldberta (2015). She co-founded the ArtPole Agency and the Sheshory-ArtPole festival of land art and music.

Since 2014, her work has engaged directly with the realities of war in Ukraine through film, writing, and long-term interdisciplinary projects such as No Man is an Island, shown across Europe and the United States. Following the full-scale invasion, she has continued to work in Kyiv and other regions, combining artistic practice with volunteer work and community-based initiatives.
