Asya Yakovlieva was born in 2001 in Luhansk. In 2016, she moved to Dnipro due to the Russian occupation of her hometown. In 2023, she graduated from Oles Honchar Dnipro National University with a degree in “Fine Arts, Decorative Arts, Restoration.”
She works with graphics, textiles, beads, sculpture, and installation. In her practice, she explores trauma, corporeality, vulnerability, and mechanisms of violence as interdependent states, combining the fragility of materials with the tension of images. She uses practices of decoration as a way of caring for trauma.
Yakovlieva lives and works in Dnipro.
