Margaryta Shatynka is a Ukrainian interdisciplinary artist from Odesa working across analogue photography, cyanotype printmaking, video, sound design and live electronic performance through which she develops a practice that moves fluidly between image-making and sonic art. She studied scenography at Odesa Theatre and Art College and filmmaking at the Kyiv Academy of Media Arts.
Before relocating, she worked as a director of photography, content-creator and videoeditor for major Ukrainian medias including Suspilne, Hromadske and Slidstvo.Info, directed music videos and created visual identities for Ukrainian musicians, and served as DOP on an international documentary about animal rescue in eastern Ukraine.
