AR-SanArte

What is SanArte?

SanArte is a project by Lekil Kuxlejal that promotes creativity amongst artists at risk and suffering from burnout by prioritising their health and wellbeing, through immersion in a natural setting and an environment conducive to reflection and creativity as part of a holistic recovery process.

Who is it aimed at?

SanArte views art as a healing force. The project therefore offers a peaceful space for artistic creation, rest, reflection and the revitalisation of both personal and professional projects for artists in situations of risk and/or extreme exhaustion. The importance of spaces dedicated to self-care, psychosocial support, physical recovery and leisure encourages the restoration of resilient creative capacities and learning processes that have been overshadowed by violence, insecurity and the exhaustion caused by self-defence. SanArte aims to provide holistic support for extreme exhaustion amongst artists from different disciplines, with a particular focus on regions where violence has created hazardous environments for artists and where their creative work is threatened by local social conflicts.

Where?

The SanArte project will take place at Casa Xitla, a space for gathering, nature and art, situated to the south of Mexico City within a 2-hectare setting, surrounded by trees, tranquillity and an atmosphere conducive to reflection and creation.
