Building lasting networks of solidarity and cooperation for Ukrainian culture. 🇺🇦🤝

Artists at Risk (AR) co-directors Ivor Stodolsky and Marita Muukkonen are participating in “Networks of Cooperation: Sustainable Structures for Ukrainian Cultural Actors in Europe and Beyond”, an international conference taking place on 15–16 October 2026 at Kunsthaus Graz, Austria.

Bringing together cultural organisations, independent initiatives, policymakers, funders and researchers from Ukraine and across Europe, the conference addresses a crucial question: How can emergency support evolve into sustainable, long-term cooperation?

The directors of AR will contribute their experience to Working Group 1: Support Structures and Cooperation Models, exploring pathways from immediate crisis response to lasting frameworks for collaboration. They will also participate in the roundtable “Strengthening Cooperation,” examining how organisations supporting Ukraine’s cultural sector can deepen coordination, visibility, and shared approaches for the future.

We warmly thank Office Ukraine (Vienna/tranzit.at and Graz/rotor), the Austrian Federal Ministry of Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport (BMWKMS), Creative Europe Desk Austria, in cooperation with Kunsthaus Graz, Creative Europe Desk Ukraine, and the Institute for Human Sciences for making this possible.
