HaFI is a non-profit trust foundation which provides both a platform for exploring the visual and discursive practice of filmmaker, artist and author Harun Farocki (1944-2014) and a flexible structure for new projects that critically interrogate past, present and future visual cultures.
HaFI especially supports such artistic, scholarly, curatorial and pedagogical practices that broaden the understanding of the use, implications and mutations of images. In addition to its editorial activities (HaFI-pamphlets series; online journal “Rosa Mercedes”), HaFI organizes artistic-discursive events such as the temporary academy “Farocki Now” and public presentations as part of its residency program.
