Ahmed Mourad Khanfir is a Tunisian artist and cultural activist. With his experience in gallery management at Nagel Galerie Drexler Köln, Germany, and his various cultural management training under Goethe-Institut Tunis, Ahmed has evolved his civil awareness and merged deeper the fields of art, culture, and human rights issues. He started his professional career in filmmaking by assisting in the direction of the renowned documentary Railway Men and in acting and producing two theatrical plays First class and Aurore en Bouche. Ahmed also works as a freelance fixer with foreign journalists on political and social matters.
In 2016, Khanfir founded ArtVeda, a cultural, social, and artistic NGO. The association serves as a liaison between artists, cultural managers, and activists and engages in art production and the organization of creative workshops for marginalized groups (children without family support, LGBTQI + community, etc.). ArtVeda also hosts artists at risk and offers them the chance to perform their art freely and safely in Tunisia. ArtVeda works in collaboration with the Institution of International Education and Artists at Risk.
