FRIDAY, 15.12.2023. Arrival and Welcome Dinner

Opening words and presentation of Artists at Risk (AR) by the Co-Directors of Artists at Risk (AR), Ivor Stodolsky and Marita Muukkonen

10.30 – 11.00 Introduction to the AR-Ukraine-Internal Network and the programme, Lena Shulga

11.00 – 12.00 Hosting experiences. The voices of four AR-Residence organisers (funders present online): Bakota Hub, Ostriv, Retreat Art House, Nvair. 10 minutes presentation + 5 minutes Q&A for each host.

12.00 – 12.30 “New aspects and challenges of Contemporary Art Centre” by Bozhena Pelenska, program executive director at Jam Factory Art Center 

12.30 – 14.00 Lunch at Jam Factory Art Center 

14.00 – 18.00 Session Two. Funding Opportunities & Grants. Cultural institutions active in Ukraine. Auditorium.

14.00 – 14.15  Welcoming remarks. Overview of UNESCO’s actions in Ukraine, in particular with regards to artists and cultural professionals by Ms Chiara Dezzi Bardeschi, Liaison Officer, UNESCO Kyiv Desk

14.15 – 14.30 “Artistic freedom at UNESCO”. Presentation on UNESCO operational programmes that can benefit cultural institutions in Ukraine (UNESCO-Aschberg programme, Lviv Culture Hub, International Fund for Cultural Diversity)  by Anaïs Chagankerian, Associate Project Officer, UNESCO – Aschberg Programme for Artists and Cultural Professionals

14.30 – 15.00 

“House of Europe: EU best opportunities” by Daria Kostiuk, Front Desk and Alumni Community Coordinator at House of Europe

15.00 – 15.30 “Cultural diplomacy opportunities and visual arts projects” by Anastasiia Manuliak, the head of Visual Culture at the Ukrainian Institute

15.30 – 16.00 Recap by Directors of AR. Recap about UA-Internal Programme. Synergies, dynamics and the role of funders such as UNESCO, Andy Warhol Foundation and Teiger Foundation. How could the AR-Ukraine-Internal Network continue in 2024? Feedback from the hosts: Why should the programme continue?
