Evelina Tryntsolin

Evelina Tryntsolyn (b. 1986) is a Ukrainian glass artist and the founder and director of the private VELES gallery. She wrote this about her residency:

“I want to thank ARTISTS AT RISK and UNESCO for the fact that I had the opportunity to be and work in a wonderful place in Paris for 3 months. While at the residence, I participated in several exhibitions, had the opportunity to visit several glass museums in France, and created a series of works. In this difficult time for us, we received not only a financial opportunity, but also humane communication with Marita and Ivor. They were always in touch with us, and in case of any need we could ask a question or offer something. They took care of us as if we were their own children. I am very grateful for that. In addition, we discussed that we will keep in touch and cooperate in the future. I am also grateful to Anabel, who responded with pleasure to our suggestions: thank you very much that we were able to go on the excursion, it was incredible.

The residency gave me the opportunity to plan my professional life. When we arrived in Paris, we were confused and did not know which direction to go. Now, thanks to the residency, there are clearly outlined plans for creative work and even an exhibition is planned for next year in the center of Paris and, in the future, in addition to creativity, I plan to study the restoration of stained glass windows more deeply and be useful for the reconstruction of my Darzhava. I want to sincerely thank all the people involved in this for their kindness. I hope for further communication.”

Evelina Tryntsolin is an ARTISTS at RISK (AR)-UNESCO Resident at AR-RAS Paris with the support of the UNESCO Heritage Emergency Fund and the UNESCO-Aschberg Programme for Artists and Cultural Professionals. AR-Paris is part of the AR-Network, which is curated by Perpetuum Mobile (PM). It is coordinated by the AR-Secretariat, which is co-funded by the Swedish Arts Council and the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
