Kateryna Prokopenko is a Ukrainian musician, photographer, filmmaker and author of the Sam Mountain musical project.
Prokopenko published her first tracks when she was 14 years old. After moving to Kyiv, Prokopenko formed a metalcore band, which ran out of steam when she moved to the United States in 2017. From 2017 to 2021, Prokopenko continued her solo musical project and released several singles under the pseudonym Sam Miller, as well as her first solo album titled “Sam Miller New Light”. After returning to Ukraine in 2021, Prokopenko chose a new pseudonym – Sam Mountain – and changed the vector of her music. Right now the musician is working in the genres of electronic, ambient, dreamy, post-rock and alternative.
