Bio page: Tito Valery
We are pleased to announce that Tito Valery will be continuing his Artists at Risk Residency in Berlin in cooperation with the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (n.b.k.).
While in Berlin, Tito will be hosting a session at the 2nd edition of Art Matters, “Reclaim the Discourse”. His workshop from 15:00 – 19:00, run together with Rokhaya Diallo, slated as among the 30 most powerful women in French media, will focus on arts mediation, public broadcasting, media activism and entertainment.
Tito Valery was most recently in Berlin for the The Artists at Risk (AR) Pavilion and the related Symposium. In the course of this visit he also partook in events at Savvy Contemporary. During his current stay, from November 6 to November 21, he will be co-hosted by the n.b.k.
Previously, Tito Valery was an Artists at Risk Resident at both AR-Safe Haven at Wysing Arts Centre and AR-Safe Haven Helsinki. While at Wysing, Tito took part in events at Tate Modern and exhibited in the London space of the renowned artist Yinka Shonibare. While resident at AR-Safe Haven Helsinki, Tito co-hosted several live radio broadcasts (Basso Radio) and lectured at the Visual Cultures, Curating and Contemporary Art (ViCCA) transdisciplinary Master’s Degree Programme at Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture in Espoo.
Tito Valery is an Artists at Risk (AR) Resident, currently between AR-Safe Haven Helsinki and Berlin. He previously was an AR Resident at Wysing Arts Centre in the UK. His Berlin residency is co-funded by Nordic Culture Point as part of the “Immigré Artists and Artists at Risk” 3-year network project, and is co-hosted by Artists at Risk (AR) and the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (n.b.k.)
