‘My Mother and the Total Invasion’, Sasha Denisova‘s new play performed by Aleksey Yudnikov at the CCCB’s theatre in Barcelona, attracted widespread attention in the Spanish media.

The mother of the author still lives in Kyiv today, resilient and resistant to the struggles of war, forming the tragic substance, as well as comic relief, for this solo performance by the actor (whose mother and family likewise refuse to leave the city in real life). Both are outgoing residents of AR-Barcelona and Denisova wrote the play during her AR-UNESCO Residency (see credits below).

Thank you to the journalists of Aquí es fa Cultura, Barcelona Ciudad de la Literatura,  elDiario.es, El País, El Punt Avui, elTRIANGLE, La Républica, La Vanguardia, surtdecasa and Vilaweb for writing about the play!
