Pavel Serdyukov

Pavel Serdyukov is an Israeli-Russian theatre and film director.  He graduated from the Electrotheatre Stanislavsky Master Program in Theatre Directing and Moscow School of New Cinema in Film Directing. He also has a PhD in Computer Science and is an award winning researcher with a focus on artificial intelligence and web search. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Pavel had left Russia and recently settled in Tel-Aviv, where he is currently a resident at Artport.

Serdyukov is a performance maker and film director, whose works focus on issues regarding our relations toward the Other, including non-human subjects or everyday objects.

In his performance practice, Pavel takes inspiration from postdramatic theatre techniques, with the use of non-dramatic texts to combine scripted and improvised elements. These “anti-narrative productions” blur the line between audience and performer by allowing for the agency of viewers to shape performances.
