DRC: Women Entrepreneurs’ Gala – Showcasing Female Talent from Bukavu and Goma
Edition – February 20, 2026 | 2 minutes read

Highlighting women’s cultural entrepreneurship and creating a space for young women’s expression are among the objectives of a women entrepreneurs’ gala scheduled for February 21, 2026, at the Résidence Hotel in Bukavu.

The announcement was made by Ms. Bénédicte Luendo, vice-coordinator of the Collective of Women Cultural Entrepreneurs of Kivu, during a press conference held on February 20, 2026.

The initiative also aims to promote the female talent of Bukavu and Goma and encourage artists to develop in a sector where women remain underrepresented, she stated.

She added that the gala is dedicated to women active in the cultural and creative industries, particularly in music, fashion, art, and cultural entrepreneurship.

This unique event will bring together women entrepreneurs, artists, and young talents from North and South Kivu in a space for exchange, visibility, and motivation.

“This is an evening where elegance meets boldness, where creativity is expressed with strength, and where female leadership is displayed with grace and confidence. Artistic performances, exceptional encounters, and moments of prestige will mark this night envisioned as a celebration of talent, courage, and female excellence,” the organization stated.

Through this initiative, the organizers aim to address the underrepresentation of women in the cultural industry and promote greater inclusion of women and girls in the sector.

The event will include artistic performances, testimonies from women entrepreneurs, and experience-sharing sessions designed to inspire participants and help build long-term professional connections among artists.

The Collective of Women Entrepreneurs of Kivu hopes the gala will strengthen young women’s confidence in their creative and entrepreneurial abilities.

In conclusion, the organizers call on cultural actors and local partners to further support women’s initiatives in order to reduce inequalities and create more opportunities for women in the cultural industry of Kivu.
