The Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw, established in 1989, is one of the leading interdisciplinary art centres in Central and Eastern Europe. Its residency program has been hosting over 300 artists and curators from around the world since 2002. The program fosters international cooperation, supporting artistic research and creative processes with an emphasis on collaboration between residents and curators. The centre provides a flexible, non-pressured environment for artists to experiment, engage with local contexts, and develop innovative practices. Additionally, Ujazdowski’s residencies support long-term interdisciplinary projects, while also providing emergency residencies for artists in crisis, such as those affected by the war in Ukraine.
