Anna Kriukova is a painter from Ukraine.
Kriukova graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture, Kyiv, Ukraine, in 1997. Since 1990, her paintings have been exhibited at numerous all-Ukrainian and international exhibitions, symposiums and open-air events and have been awarded numerous prizes, for example in the categories of painting and visual arts. In 1994, Kriukova became a member of the Ukrainian Union of Artists and, since 2010, has been an Associate Professor of Fine Arts at the Institute of Arts, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University.
Kriukova had this to say:
“The location of the residence in the ancient Monte Castello di Vibio, the history, the aesthetics, the spirit of the country undoubtedly influenced my practice at the ICArts. In the “Daria” series, in a single coordinate system, I combined the historical ornaments of the museums of Rome and Florence with the traditions of the Renaissance and the modern practice of abstraction, which is inherent to my painting.
At the ICArts, I met many colleagues with whom I worked in a single space and presented works at exhibitions. It was a period of active daily work, communication, and travel. A period of daily discoveries.
It has been one of the best places for creativity with equipped workshops. All the conditions for the artist’s practice have been created here. Thanks to Artist at Risk for the opportunity and grant and ICArts for the warm welcome.”
Ganna Kriukova is an ARTISTS at RISK (AR)-UNESCO Resident at ICArts, Italy, with the support of the UNESCO Heritage Emergency Fund and the UNESCO-Aschberg Programme for Artists and Cultural Professionals.
